You can manage Endpoint Protection polices in the Webroot Management console using the Policies page.
You can add, copy, import, modify and delete policies.
+Adding new policies
- Log into the Webroot management console.
- In the left nav bar, click Policies and select the Endpoint Protection tab.
- In the top right of the Policies page, click Add Policy.
- In the Add Endpoint Protection page, enter or configure:
- Name - name of the policy (cannot be blank)
- Description - description for the policy (cannot be blank)
- Policy Settings - the policy settings are organized into sections. Click a section to expand the settings and adjust as needed.
- Click Save to create the new policy.
+Copying a policy
You can copy an existing default or created policy. This is helpful if you want to use another policy as a starting point when creating a new policy.
- Log into the Webroot management console.
- In the left nav bar, click Policies and select the Endpoint Protection tab.
- Find and click the policy to copy, then click Copy Policy (top right).
- In the Policy to be copied page, enter:
- Name - name of the policy (cannot be blank)
- Description - description for the policy (cannot be blank)
- Policy Settings - make any desired changes to the policy settings from the copied policy.
- Click Save to create the new policy.
+Importing a policy
This is helpful if you have created an endpoint protection policy for a site that you want to use globally.
- Log into the Webroot management console.
- In the left nav bar, click Policies and select the Endpoint Protection tab.
- In the top right of the Policies page, click Import Policy.
- In the Import Endpoint Policy page:
- Use the Site drop-down menu to select the Site to import the policy from.
- Use the Policy drop-down menu to select the Policy to import.
- Click Import Policy to import the selected policy to the Webroot Management level.
- The imported policy is created with the same name it had at the Site level.
+Modifying a policy
- Log into the Webroot management console.
- In the left nav bar, click Policies and select the Endpoint Protection tab.
- Find and click the policy to modify.
- The policy settings are displayed. Adjust the policy settings:
- Name - name of the policy (cannot be blank)
- Description - description for the policy (cannot be blank)
- Policy Settings - the policy settings are organized into sections. Click a section to expand the settings and adjust as needed.
- Once completed, click Save to complete the process.
- Changes to policies are applied to devices as they check-in. Devices can be forced to check-in.
+Deleting a policy
- Log into the Webroot management console.
- In the left nav bar, click Policies and select the Endpoint Protection tab.
- Find and click the policy to copy, then click Delete Policy (top right).
- A Delete Policy window will be displayed. Use the Replacement Policy drop-down menu to select a replacement policy to use for any devices that are still using this policy.
- Click Delete Policy to delete the policy.
- If any devices were still assigned this policy, they will be assigned the replacement policy as they check-in. Devices can be forced to check-in.
