This solution addresses Webroot SecureAnywhere for Mac OS X 10.7 and higher

If you see a message stating Webroot SecureAnywhere cannot be installed because it is not from the Mac App Store or the developer could not be confirmed, this is possibly due to high security settings on your Mac.

Please follow the instructions below to adjust these settings to allow Webroot to be installed on your computer.

  1. Go to the Apple Menu (the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen).
  2. Click System Preferences.
  3. Go to the Security and Privacy tab.
  4. Under Allow apps downloaded from, click the radio button for Anywhere.

Note: If the section is grayed out, click on the lock icon in the bottom left, and enter in your mac password to unlock.

Once this is done, try to install Webroot once more. It should install normally. After Webroot is installed, please change the security settings back to where they were to protect your computer.
